About Evan Nowack
Evan Nowack is a picture editor based in Southern California. Currently honing his craft at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts as a Film and Television Production major with an emphasis in Editing and a minor in Visual Effects, Evan's creative journey began with simple Lego stop-motion videos and has grown into deep fluency with professional post-production tools, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, and Pro Tools.
Evan most recently worked with Blumhouse Productions, first as a post-production intern and later as a post-production assistant. As an intern, he collaborated with post-production teams on feature films by managing assets, refining editorial workflows, and participating in quality control and VFX review processes, gaining hands-on experience across the post-production pipeline. He later served as a post-production assistant on the dub stage while Five Nights at Freddy's 2 was mixed at Warner Bros., providing direct exposure to high-level studio sound workflows and final mixing environments.
Previously, Evan interned with the Television Academy Foundation at Geiger Post, gaining valuable insight into the fast-paced world of online post-production by working on high-profile projects with Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Avid NEXIS servers. As part of that program, he was selected from among 40 interns to be one of two trophy presenters at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, an honor recognizing his professionalism and emerging presence in the industry.
Evan strives to be a true post-production hyphenate, with a primary focus on picture editorial. His work as an editor has been recognized by American Cinema Editors (ACE) through a nomination for the Anne V. Coates Student Editing Competition Award. Alongside his editorial work, he is also a skilled sound designer and a Pro Tools Certified Specialist, with extensive experience in Dolby Atmos. His work has been recognized industry-wide, including being named a finalist for the Cinema Audio Society's Student Recognition Award and a nominee for the Motion Picture Sound Editors' Verna Fields Student Award.
Beyond filmmaking, Evan pursues creative interests that inform his work across disciplines. He is an avid nature and landscape photographer with a strong eye for composition and visual storytelling. A practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, Evan finds solace and inspiration in mindfulness practices. His vocal talents extend beyond the cinematic realm, and he boasts proficiency in various dialects, celebrity impersonations, and beatboxing.
